Registered Holistic Nutritionists/Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultants (RHNs) are professionals trained in natural nutrition and complementary therapies. The primary role is to educate individuals and groups about the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition and lifestyle. Holistic Nutritionists support their client’s well-being and assist health care providers to deal with many aspects involved in a client’s health. Due to their level of knowledge, Holistic Nutritionists are valuable contributors to health care and work alongside medical professionals such as Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Homeopaths and Medical Doctors.
Registered Holistic Nutritionists believe that each person is biochemically distinct and has unique nutritional needs. Once lifestyle and nutritional imbalances are identified, RHNs can develop a custom tailored wellness program unique to you, based on your food preferences, intolerances or sensitivities, lifestyle and genetic predispositions. Further guidance is available to the client, if necessary, by explaining food labels and by offering food preparation techniques and shopping tips. RHNs guide clients in the implementation of a long-term personal health plan, provide education when necessary and offer ongoing assessments.
RHNs monitor client’s personal health plan in order to reinforce
participation in the achievement of their health goals.
All of these symptoms can be linked to food and nutrition. Improving the way you eat may easily improve your current condition. When you make small modifications over time (not all at once) nutrition and lifestyle changes can impact on your overall well-being.
✓ A customized meal plan tailored to YOU – your likes, dislikes, food intolerances, allergies and lifestyle
✓ Looking for consistent support? Guidance and motivation? Your RHN is like having a food trainer instead of personal fitness trainer – your very own personal food and lifestyle coach to give you a gentle butt kicking:)
✓Avoid unnecessary meds and pill popping by getting to the root cause of your problems, such as insomnia, low energy, skin problems and hormonal issues. Food is your best medicine for many (not all) health problems
✓ Learn how to eat to prevent disease, rather than manage disease symptoms
✓ Master your digestion! Work with an expert on getting your gut on track and avoid common (yet avoidable) symptoms such as gas, bloating and indigestion after a meal
✓ It’s NOT a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. Diets don’t work! They are temporary and do NOTHING to improve your mood or health concerns. Health happens over time and weight loss will be just one side effect, as will glowing skin, improved energy levels, quality sleep and better moods!
✓ RHNs guide their clients through the maze of often conflicting information from books, magazines, supplements and diets on the market. Holistic nutritionists do not advise you on a generic food guide or pyramid, but solely on what is best for you
✓ Stay connected with me through my blog, twitter and facebook to learn about upcoming seminars, nutrition tips, recipes and how you can cook healthy food that’s as delicious as it is nutritious and spend less time in the kitchen!
✓Learn what nutrients you may be deficient in due to the medications you are taking. Often medications can deplete us of vital nutrients needed for optimal functioning. Use foods and supplements (if needed) to replace what’s lost.
✓Happiness! One wonderful side effect of eating more healthfully and making appropriate lifestyle changes is improved mood and energy levels
