Homemade Hummus

I love to make fresh hummus before the start of a work week, it’s really yummy and so simple to make. Hummus is a great snack idea:) It’s an amazing source of plant based protein and fibre which means it will help regulate blood sugar levels thus keeping you fuller longer!




1 can of chickpeas (Eden brand is great & BPA free, drain&rinse)

2 clove of garlic chopped

3 tbsp lemon juice (real lemons!)

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1 tbsp olive oil

1tbsp toasted sesame seed oil

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

salt and pepper to taste

garnish with chopped parsley

Blend all ingredients in a magic bullet, food processor or vita-mix until you reach desired consistency(you may need to add a little water and stir as necessary)

Enjoy with toasted whole grain pitas, sliced vegetables or organic crackers!
